Senior Project Manager – Global NPD

Galway (onsite with hybrid after probation) | Permanent | Competitive Package

We’re working with a high‑growth global wellness and life‑sciences business to hire a Senior Project Manager – Global NPD. This is a senior delivery role leading complex, cross‑functional product development programs across class II medical devices, general wellness products, nutritional supplements and cosmetics, from early concept through global launch and post‑launch stabilisation.

You will join a newly built NPD organisation and own integrated project planning, cross‑functional coordination, risk and change management, and milestone delivery for multiple programs running in parallel.

The opportunity
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of multi‑category product development projects (devices, supplements, cosmetics, wellness technologies).
  • Operate at the centre of a cross‑functional matrix spanning Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain and Marketing.
  • Help shape and mature NPD project structures, processes and governance in a fast‑moving, “start‑up style” environment.

What you’ll be doing

Strategic planning & leadership
  • Define project scope, goals and comprehensive roadmaps, translating business strategy into clear, actionable project plans.
  • Mentor and direct project staff, fostering a collaborative, high‑accountability team environment.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts, allocating resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Communicate with senior executives and stakeholders, managing expectations and providing clear, structured status reporting.
Integrated program leadership
  • Lead assigned NPD projects from concept through commercialisation and into early sustaining.
  • Build and maintain integrated master project plans that cover technical, regulatory, quality, supply chain and commercial activities.
  • Drive adherence to scope, timelines and stage‑gate milestones, keeping programs aligned to the original business case and launch objectives.
Cross‑functional accountability
  • Own overall program cadence and drive accountability for milestone completion across all functional owners.
  • Proactively escalate risks, issues, delays and resource constraints, maintaining visibility of critical path dependencies.
  • Facilitate structured program reviews and leadership updates, ensuring clear decisions and documented outcomes at key points.
Regulatory, risk & change
  • Align project plans and critical milestones with multi‑market regulatory requirements and submission timelines.
  • Ensure documentation readiness for stage‑gate reviews and audits.
  • Identify and mitigate program risks, and manage scope changes, supplier‑driven changes and regulatory impacts through structured change control with Quality.
Launch readiness & transition
  • Coordinate go‑to‑market readiness with project owners and commercial teams.
  • Ensure smooth transition from NPD into sustaining lifecycle management, capturing lessons learned and feeding them into future development cycles.
Ways of working
  • Collaborate with global colleagues across multiple time zones, with occasional evening meetings to support effective communication.
  • Stay up to date on industry best practice, emerging technologies and regulatory changes that impact NPD.
  • Travel up to c.10% for key meetings, vendor visits and market‑facing activities.
What we’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business or related discipline.
  • 8+ years’ experience managing multiple complex, cross‑functional product development programs, ideally in regulated industries (medical device, supplements, cosmetics or similar).
  • Strong experience with project methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and deep understanding of design control processes.
  • PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Highly proficient in tools such as MS Project, Jira or Smartsheet, with strong critical‑path planning and risk‑management capability.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and stakeholder management, able to influence at all levels.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and fluent written and spoken English.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and adjusting to changing priorities
