Principal Quality Engineer
The Principal Quality Engineer will lead and oversee the site’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with international standards and driving continuous improvement across all operations.
This is a senior technical role providing quality leadership, supporting new product development, managing risk, and guiding quality performance through all manufacturing stages. The position also involves mentoring team members and working closely with cross-functional groups to ensure a consistent focus on quality excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Quality System Management- Develop, maintain, and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other customer-specific standards.
- Ensure all products and processes meet required regulatory and quality standards.
- Manage customer complaints and vigilance reporting requirements.
- Provide expert guidance on quality matters, participate in design reviews, and support quality assurance throughout project design, development, and implementation.
- Drive site-wide improvement initiatives using quality metrics, data analysis, and tools such as RCA and CAPA to strengthen systems and efficiency.
- Oversee and support quality control activities for manufacturing, supplier quality, and product development — embedding quality at every stage.
- Lead and participate in risk assessment and mitigation using tools such as pFMEA, APQP, and related quality methodologies.
- Mentor junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve quality and operational objectives.
- Support internal and external audit programmes.
- Contribute to process, equipment, and product validation and qualification activities.
- Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering/Science discipline.
- Strong IT skills (MS Office, Minitab, etc.).
- Knowledge of pFMEA, 8D, DMAIC, and Kaizen processes.
- Self-motivated and capable of making sound, independent decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with IATF core tools is an advantage.
