Maintenance Electrician – Manufacturing
A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join its team in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This is a hands-on role focused on electrical and control systems, with scope to apply mechanical skills across a wide range of automated equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and line modifications on production and plant equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults on compressors, boilers, refrigeration units, motors, PLCs, HMIs, and sensors.
- Maintain and update electrical drawings and schematics (AutoCAD).
- Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime.
- Support equipment installations, commissioning, and new product trials.
- Participate in improvement projects (WCM/Lean) to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Ensure spares are managed effectively and uphold high safety and housekeeping standards.
- Electrical trade qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, instrumentation, and speed control.
- Experience in troubleshooting automated systems.
- Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good communication skills and a safety-first mindset.
- Mechanical knowledge (pneumatics, hydraulics, welding) desirable.
