I&C (Instruments & Controls) Technician

Reports To: I&C Supervisor / Maintenance Manager

Job Summary:

The technician ensures these systems operate reliably, accurately, and safely to support efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems.
• Troubleshoot issues in PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
• Perform loop checks, signal tracing, and functional testing.
• Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work, including calibration records and service reports.
• Assist in system upgrades, modifications, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to resolve process control issues.

Requirements

Required Skillset:

• 2+ years of experience in I&C maintenance or commissioning in an industrial setting (e.g., power plant, manufacturing, oil & gas, pharmaceutical).
• Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, control systems, and process automation.
• Familiarity with PLC/DCS platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Emerson).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

• Craft certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical Instrumentation or Electrical.

• A Diploma or equivalent in electronic engineering, electrical engineering or manufacturing engineering.

Working Conditions:

• May involve working in outdoor or hazardous environments.
• Required to wear PPE and follow safety procedures.
