Assistant Accountant

This is an initial 1 year contract with the view of going permanent for the right person.

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring accountant who is currently pursuing ACCA (or equivalent) to gain hands-on experience across core finance processes in a dynamic business environment. With a new ERP system being implemented, you will play an active role in shaping enhanced finance operations and gain exposure to valuable project work.

• Financial Operations Support:
• Maintain accurate monthly financial records.
• Process payments and manage cash handling to deadlines.
• Assist with Accounts Payable, including supplier reconciliations.
• Reporting & Month-End:
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
• Post month-end journals and review general ledger transactions.
• Support year-end preparation and procedures.
• Accounts Receivable & Banking:
• Analyse key Accounts Receivable accounts.
• Reconcile multi-currency bank accounts.
• Cost Accounting:
• Perform cost analysis and reconcile variances.
• Tax Compliance:
• Support VAT submissions for Ireland, UK, and Netherlands.
• ERP Implementation:
• Assist with data validation, process testing, and user adoption during ERP rollout.

• Currently studying towards ACCA (or similar) with strong progress.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Inventory is highly desirable.
• Comfortable with multiple systems; ERP experience is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (testing will be carried out at interview stage).
