This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance.Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
Job Description
Throughout the placement, the participant will develop experience within a professional legal setting. They will observe and assist with day-to-day administrative duties typical of a solicitors’ practice. This hands-on role will help build practical skills in legal administration, provide insight into how a law office operates, and strengthen organisational and communication abilities.
In the role of administrative assistant, the participant will support a range of important office functions. Tasks will include assisting with the preparation of legal documents, organising and maintaining case files, carrying out basic research, proofreading documents, and handling correspondence with clients and other parties.A strong emphasis will be placed on maintaining confidentiality at all times.
The participant will also gain experience in reception duties such as answering phone calls, managing incoming and outgoing post, scanning and filing documents, organising schedules, handling basic banking tasks, greeting clients, and performing general administrative work.
Role Description
This is a training-focused work placement, and no previous experience is required. Participants will receive accredited and/or industry-recognised training during the programme. They may also complete the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module, developed by the Education & Training Boards in partnership with the Department of Social Protection.
