About Traineeship:
Your training will be based on four rotations through a number of departments or practice areas to allow you to gain as broad an experience as possible and discover the full range of work we do and the expertise we have in our teams. You will be directly involved in choosing these rotations.
You ,will be involved in some of the biggest cases and commercial transactions in Ireland in an exciting, deadline-driven environment. Your traineeship with Matheson will focus on two core areas:
supporting you as you become a part of our team and immerse yourself in Matheson’s work and culture; and providing you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to become a leading business lawyer.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be working across a number of departments or practice areas assisting teams with the following:
Assist Lawyers in preparing legal documents, contracts, agreements and case files; Conduct legal research using relevant legislation, case law, legal databases in both Arabic and English; Translate legal documents and correspondence between Arabic and English; Communicate with Arabic-speaking clients to gather information and provide updates under supervision; and
Attend client meetings and legal consultations with supervising lawyers.
Skills and experienceUndergraduate Degree
Successfully passed all 8 of the Law Society FE1 examinations
Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken)
A good understanding of how our business works and market experience in international law firms
