City Pharmacy Ltd is looking for a motivated Part-Qualified Accountant to join our team. The role supports accounting functions across our community pharmacy and nursing home services.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly management accounts for healthcare revenue streams (HSE, GMS, DPS, and private clients)
Reconcile monthly billing and statements for nursing home contractsAnalyse margins and cost allocations for medication packing services
Conduct VAT analysis and ensure compliance on pharmacy sales, including FOS-specific treatments
Prepare detailed financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, including performance trends and KPIs
Monitor and forecast cash flow to support financial planning and liquidity management
Assist with annual budget planning and ongoing forecasting activities
Review and maintain compliance with accounting standards and sector-specific regulations
Maintain accurate general ledger records and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Implement process improvements and internal controls to enhance efficiency and financial accuracy
Requirements:Essential:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably in pharmacy, healthcare, or nursing home settings in Ireland
Bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance
Part-qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA (active progress towards full qualification is essential)
Strong understanding of VAT and tax in the healthcare/pharmacy context
Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, modelling)
Knowledge of HSE reimbursement claims, GMS/DPS processes, and Irish healthcare funding
PreferableExperience using accounting and pharmacy systems such as McLernons, Xero, and RealWord reports
Excellent communication and organisation skills
Ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality and GDPR compliance
