We are seeking a Solar QA/QC Engineer to support the delivery of utility-scale solar PV projects across Ireland.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans in accordance with contract requirements and ISO standards.
Conduct daily quality inspections of civil, mechanical, and electrical works including module mounting, cabling, trenching, inverter installation, and grid connection.
Ensure compliance with design drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and ITPs.
Perform inspections and testing on materials and installations (e.g., PV modules, inverters, transformers, cable insulation resistance, string testing, torque settings).
Maintain up-to-date documentation including test reports, NCRs, punch lists, as-built drawings, and quality logs.
Identify and manage non-conformities and coordinate with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
Liaise with contractors, site managers, and client representatives to ensure all works meet quality standards.
Support the commissioning and handover process with complete QA/QC documentation packages.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and proposing quality enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
Minimum 3 years’ QA/QC experience in solar PV or renewable energy projects; EPC experience preferred.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Irish and EU construction standards, regulations, and best practices for solar projects.
Familiar with IEC, EN, and ISO standards (especially ISO 9001).
Proficient in MS Office and quality management systems (QMS); experience with SharePoint is an advantage.
Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
