Food Preparation: Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes according to the establishment's recipes, standards, and plating guides, ensuring consistency and quality at all times.
Inventory and Stock Control: Monitoring stock levels within their section, ensuring proper rotation, minimising waste, and informing senior chefs of any shortages or ordering needs.
Hygiene and Safety: Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within their workstation and adhering to all food safety regulations and procedures.
Quality Control: Regularly tasting and assessing dishes to ensure flavor profiles, textures, and presentation meet the required standards.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that all equipment within their section is clean, well-maintained, and in good working order, reporting any faults promptly.Menu Knowledge: Possessing a thorough understanding of all menu items within their section, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
Collaboration: Working effectively as part of the wider kitchen team, assisting other sections when needed and communicating effectively with colleagues and senior chefs.
Key Requirements:
Culinary Skills: Strong culinary skills and a solid understanding of cooking techniques relevant to their area of expertise.Food Hygiene Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP). Certification in food safety is often required.
Organisational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
Teamwork and Communication: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring consistency in food preparation, presentation, and quality.
Ability to Work Under Pressure: The ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Minimum 2 years working in a fast paced environment as a Demi Chef de Partie, or Chef de Partie required.
