Job Description
Full Hospitality Training Placement – Waiter/Waitress & Accredited Barista (WPEP Programme)
We are offering a comprehensive six-month front-of-house training position under the Intreo WPEP programme. This is a full training opportunity designed for someone who wants complete hands-on experience as both a Waiter/Waitress and a fully trained Barista.
From day one, the participant will be immersed in all aspects of restaurant service, receiving structured training in: Professional table service and guest experience
Order taking and POS systemsFood and beverage knowledge
Customer care and communication
Service standards and restaurant operations
Midway through the programme, the participant will complete a fully accredited Barista Course, becoming professionally trained in coffee preparation, milk texturing, espresso extraction, drink presentation, and workflow management.
This placement is specifically designed for one individual to gain full dual experience — building confidence and competence as both a waiter/waitress and a qualified barista. By the end of the six months, the participant will have the practical skills, certification, and real service experience needed to move directly into paid hospitality employment.
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
The participant will receive formal/ informal training in the following ;
Informal Training: Professional table service and guest experience
Food and beverage knowledgeOrder taking and POS systems
Customer care and communication
Service standards and restaurant operations
Formal Training:Midway through the programme, the participant will complete a fully accredited Barista Course, becoming professionally trained in coffee preparation, milk texturing, espresso extraction, drink presentation, and workflow management.
