The Role
We are proud to be partnering with a leading, award-winning main contractor based in Ireland to recruit an experienced SHEQ Advisor for their projects in Limerick. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated SHEQ professional — at mid-level or the upper end of junior level — to join a progressive, fast-paced construction environment and truly take ownership of their remit.
Our client operates across a diverse range of sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare, hotel & leisure, student accommodation and educational, and holds ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications — reflecting their genuine commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental management.
Key Responsibilities- Advising site teams and management on all matters relating to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality
- Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments across live construction projects
- Developing, implementing and maintaining SHEQ documentation, policies and procedures
- Investigating incidents, near misses and hazards, producing detailed reports and driving corrective actions
- Supporting inductions, toolbox talks and SHEQ training for site operatives and management
- Ensuring compliance with Irish health & safety legislation and client-specific requirements
- Contributing to the maintenance of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems
- Promoting and embedding a positive, safety-first culture across all project sites
- A relevant qualification in Health & Safety and/or Environmental Management (e.g. NEBOSH, NFQ Level 7/8 in Health & Safety or equivalent)
- Experience gained within a construction environment — main contractor or subcontractor background
- Mid-level experience, or a strong junior professional ready to take the next step in their career
- Confident working on-site and engaging directly with site teams and management
- Proactive, organised and self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload
- A genuine commitment to driving a safety-first standard and culture
- Strong communication skills — written and verbal
- Full driving licence desirable
