The Ad Sales Representative (ASR) plays a pivotal role in managing and growing relationships with existing advertising clients, optimizing their ad campaigns, and driving incremental revenue. Operating within a dynamic, fast-paced sales environment, the ASR works as an inside sales specialist combining consultative selling, data analysis, and customer service to meet the strategic business goals of our clients and advertisers.
This role supports different campaign types including Search Ads, Display Ads, Product Listing Ads (PLA), Product Category Ads (PCA), and Sponsored Ads, with the ultimate objective of driving platform adoption, advertiser success, and business growth.
The primary objective of the Ad Sales Representative is to provide full-funnel sales support to advertisers by:
- Managing pre-existing and newly onboarded advertisers across various campaign types.
- Delivering strategic consulting, product education, campaign diagnostics, and budget optimization advice.
- Responding to inquiries, resolving campaign-related issues, and upselling new features or products.
The ASR is responsible for driving customer satisfaction, increasing advertising ROI, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) in a hybrid sales and account optimization role.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESA. Advertising Strategy & Optimization
- Analyze advertiser accounts to assess campaign performance across key metrics (e.g., CTR, CPC, CPA, CPM, ROAS).
- Recommend optimizations including keyword/ad group structuring, bidding strategies, targeting adjustments, and A/B testing.
- Leverage platform tools and features to improve ad delivery, conversion rates, and ROI.
- Propose strategic solutions to enhance campaign quality and efficiency (e.g., audience segmentation, budget reallocations).
- Build and manage long-term relationships with small- and medium-business advertisers.
- Conduct needs analysis to understand advertiser goals, challenges, and business models.
- Provide high-touch consultative support, acting as a digital marketing advisor.
- Monitor advertiser satisfaction and take proactive steps to ensure long-term retention.
- Handle inbound queries related to ad products, billing, targeting, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct outbound cold calls and follow-ups with existing clients to drive campaign expansions.
- Identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities and pitch value-added products or features (e.g., remarketing, shopping ads).
- Drive revenue growth through proactive lead qualification, engagement, and conversion.
- Set up, activate, and monitor PLA, PCA, Sponsored Product, and Display ad campaigns.
- Collaborate with clients on ad creative development aligned with platform best practices.
- Manage daily campaign health checks and alerts to maintain account hygiene.
- Support transitions for newly contracted advertisers to active campaign management.
- Create and deliver comprehensive performance reports with actionable insights.
- Track and manage pipelines, forecast revenue targets, and report progress on KPIs.
- Maintain accurate CRM data and sales documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Partner with marketing, technical support, and product teams to ensure campaign delivery excellence.
- Relay customer feedback to product and training teams to drive platform and process improvements.
- Participate in team-level planning, reporting, and business reviews with stakeholders.
A. Core Sales & Consultative Abilities
- Strong prospecting and cold-calling skills with a proven ability to influence purchasing decisions.
- Deep understanding of sales cycles, sales planning, and pipeline management.
- Skilled in needs analysis, objection handling, and value-based pitching.
- Proven ability to meet/exceed quotas and performance benchmarks in a high-volume sales environment.
- Sound knowledge of Google Ads, Amazon Advertising Console, Flipkart Ads, Meta Ads (FB/Insta), or equivalent platforms.
- Understanding of key ad metrics (CPC, CPA, CPM, CTR, ROAS) and optimization techniques.
- Experience in managing or advising on PLA, PCA, Display, Search, Sponsored Product, and e-commerce campaigns.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies in campaign performance and recommend evidence-backed changes.
- Advanced skills in campaign diagnostics and trend identification.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, dashboards, and analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with CRM and lead management systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho).
- Comfortable navigating multiple digital tools, extensions, and ad systems simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with decision-makers, including C-level stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and credibility with clients and team members.
- Ability to tailor messaging to different audience personas and verticals.
