About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Payroll Manager to join our expanding Finance team. In this role, you will play a central part in managing and scaling international payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across multiple countries.

You will report directly to the International Payroll Lead.

This position blends hands-on operational work with strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience from a large multinational environment, with a proven track record in managing complex, multi-country payroll operations and overseeing third‑party vendor relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for multiple international entities, including Ireland, the UK, Switzerland, France, Germany, Japan, and South Korea.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs from HR, Benefits, and Finance to ensure accurate payroll results.
  • Develop and maintain payroll calendars, checklists, and processing schedules across all jurisdictions.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory payroll obligations, including tax filings, social security, and pension contributions.
  • Support the expansion of payroll operations into new EMEA and APAC regions.
  • Assist Corporate Accounting with month-end payroll-related tasks.
  • Oversee and maintain strong relationships with third‑party payroll providers.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Resolve payroll tax notices from international tax authorities.
  • Prepare payroll reports and analytics for management review.
  • Support equity compensation processes and related reporting.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures and compliance documentation.
  • Contribute to payroll system integrations and process improvement initiatives.

You May Be a Good Fit If You:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Have 5–6+ years of experience in payroll operations, including at least 3 years managing international payroll.
  • Are proficient in processing multiple compensation types (regular, off‑cycle, severance, taxable benefits, equity).
  • Have strong knowledge of international payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Bring experience with payroll journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Have working knowledge of Workday HRIS and global payroll vendors.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively across time zones and diverse cultural environments.
  • Are motivated by building scalable processes in a growing organisation.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

Strong Candidates May Also:

  • Have experience supporting rapid international expansion in high‑growth environments.
  • Understand business traveller payroll tax requirements.
  • Have been involved in payroll system implementations.
  • Be familiar with Workday or other large HRIS platforms.

Education Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is required.
