JOB SPECIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
Essential: Clean Full Class B Licence
Effective Oral Telephone and Written Communication Skills
Desirable: First Aid Training (or willingness to undertake First Aid Training is essential)

Reception StaffHome Care Team
KNOWLEDGE
Essential: Excellent driving skills
Excellent knowledge of road safety and Rules of the RoadAn ability to demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality and equal opportunities
Have a positive attitude towards patients and their carers
EXPERIENCE
Essential: Experience in driving a mini bus (8 seater)
Ability to take instruction, give appropriate feedback, and seek advice where necessaryAbility and willingness to undertake the safe lifting of patients and manual handling of loads, in line with staff training and accepted good practice
Ability to work as part of a team
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Essential: Be able to communicate effectively with professional staff, patients and carers
Demonstrate good interpersonal skillsA general understanding of the values and work undertaken by Marymount University Hospital and Hospice
Ability to undertake regular vehicle checks, and report problems to the Maintenance Manager
Willingness to be flexible in approach to work, and be responsive to changing demands
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General: To undertake a range of driving duties
To undertake regular vehicle checks and check water and Oil every Friday. (Above to be done by the 8 a.m. driver)Carry out general checks of equipment including personal wheelchairs
Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in relation to the bus
Check supplies box in bus – (a) That stock used is replaced when used and (b) Best before date on items in the supplies box
Attend relevant meetings as required and participate appropriately
Keep up-to-date, clear, accurate and precise records in relation to the bus
Take Specimens from Marymount Wards 11.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m
Be flexible and support other departments and undertake any other activities as requested
Clean, wash bus inside and outside
Clean, hoover and polish Home Care cars as requested and to put petrol or diesel in Home Care Team cars when needed to be filled)
Porter duties when necessary
Any other duties that may be required by the Hospital/Hospice
