Group Head of Health and Safety for Field Services

PM Group is seeking to recruit an experienced Health and Safety Leader to oversee the safe delivery of field services including construction and commissioning projects across the Group.

Accountable to the Group Head of Health and Safety, you will be responsible for leading PM Group’s ‘Delivered Safely’ pillar across services, building a strong pro-active safety culture and delivering best‑in‑class safety performance.

  • Job Role and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Own and lead the implementation of PM Group ‘Delivered Safely’ pillar for all field-based services (CMS, MGS, Cx, CQV, OTS)
  • Develop health & safety strategies, programmes and plans across the organisation
  • Develop, promote and maintain a strong, pro-active safety culture across field services
  • Lead the implementation of PM Group’s site based behavioural based safety programme
  • Ensure full compliance with local and national Health and Safety legislation for field-based services
  • Participate in PM Group H&S Centre of Expertise (CoE) to develop and adopt industry best practices in health and safety across the organisation
  • Lead a team of H&S area managers and manage on-site health and safety competency and resourcing needs.
  • Co-ordinate the development and delivery of safety training, workshops and awareness briefings
  • Support Service heads and Construction Managers in the execution of health and safety related statutory duties
  • Own and lead PM Group’s site based active monitoring program and report on health and safety performance
  • Lead the investigation of incidents and interface with local authorities
  • Influence employee work practices through dialogue, relationship building and behavioural safety coaching
  • Maintain compliance with the company’s ISO45001 accredited safety management system.
  • Develop health and safety programmes and initiatives designed to continually improve performance
  • - Primary Degree in Engineering, Science, Health and Safety or equivalent. A third level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent would be an advantage
  • Chartered member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent would be an advantage
  • An advanced knowledge of construction health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and health disciplines with a minimum 15 years’ experience in a related role
  • Experience and proven capabilities in developing and implementing world class health and safety management systems across an organisation
  • Experience in developing and implementing behavioural safety programmes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at senior leadership level within a project organisation
