Rosary Hill House Nursing Home Ltd is recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and oversee building trades activities across our property and facilities. The successful candidate will manage a team of trades workers, ensuring maintenance, repairs, and minor construction works are completed to a high standard, in compliance with Irish health and safety regulations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and supervise building trades workers in executing general building and facility maintenance tasks, including painting, plastering, flooring, plumbing, electrical repairs, and minor construction works.
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements, plan repairs, and assign tasks to trades personnel.
Oversee on-site activities to ensure works are completed efficiently, safely, and within project timelines.
Coordinate with management, external contractors, and suppliers for specialist services when required.
Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for equipment and building systems, delegating tasks to appropriate trades.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, materials used, costs, and team performance.
Ensure all supervised works adhere to Irish health and safety standards, including risk assessments and compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
Essential Requirements:A recognised degree in a relevant field such as engineering, construction, or building services (Level 7 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications).
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervising construction or building trades, preferably in facilities maintenance or a construction context.
Practical knowledge and supervisory experience in one or more trades: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, or general building repairs.
Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.Ability to lead a team, work independently, and demonstrate initiative in a supervisory role.
