Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts across PostgreSQL, cloud data warehouses, and related platforms.
- Design and maintain scalable, efficient database schemas, including tables, views, and indexes.
- Build and manage data models to support analytic and reporting use cases.
- Implement and maintain database unit tests using appropriate testing frameworks (e.g., pgTAP, tSQLt, pytest) to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to the definition and enforcement of database development best practices.
- Gather and analyse business requirements to design dashboard and reporting concepts, including wire frames where appropriate.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using modern BI and visualisation tools.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver well-structured data-sets and meaningful visualisations.
- Provide documentation, knowledge sharing, mentoring, and training support to team members.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS or Azure platforms)
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration tools
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star and snowflake scheme's and data pipelines
- Strong working knowledge of self-service BI tools such as QuickSight, Power BI, or Tableau
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
