Annual Leave; 30 days plus bank holidays
Salary; €60,256 with annual increments
Duration; We anticipate this role will be for a minimum of 24 months

We are now seeking an experienced Energy Management Engineer / Project Manager to support the delivery of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across a diverse healthcare portfolio in the Cork / Ireland South Region
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping the HSE achieve its energy performance and carbon reduction targets across acute hospitals, primary care centres, community hospitals, nursing units, and office facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project manage energy projects from concept through to handover, including Measurement & Verification (M&V) of savings
- Deliver energy efficiency projects including but not limited to:
- LED lighting upgrades
- Boiler plant upgrades and decentralisation
- Circulation pump upgrades to Variable Speed Drives (VSD)
- Building Management System (BMS) optimisation
- HVAC and chiller optimisation/replacement
- Support Energy Efficient Design (EED) for new builds and major refurbishments, acting as EED Owner on behalf of the HSE
- Establish and support Energy Management Teams across major healthcare facilities
- Manage grant applications and funding submissions to the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI)
- Identify, quantify, implement, and report on energy-saving opportunities across the portfolio
- Conduct energy audits and utility bill analysis
- Benchmark energy performance regionally and nationally
- Drive behavioural change initiatives and staff engagement programmes to promote energy awareness
- Chair on-site energy management meetings and support local conservation strategies
- Report energy savings through the National Energy Bureau
Requirements:
- Level 8 Degree qualification in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline
- Proven experience managing energy or building services projects
- Understanding of HVAC systems, BMS, utilities, and energy performance optimisation
- Experience in energy auditing and sustainability initiatives
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel across sites within the region
