The Dairy Farm Manager will be responsible for the overall management and daily operations of a dairy farm. The role includes herd management, milk production optimization, staff supervision, animal health and welfare compliance, and ensuring the farm operates efficiently, sustainably, and in accordance with Irish agricultural regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee daily dairy farm operations.
Supervise and coordinate farm staff and assign duties.
Monitor herd health, fertility, calving, and milk production performance.
Implement herd health programs in cooperation with veterinary advisors.
Oversee milking routines and ensure milk quality standards are maintained.
Manage feeding programs and pasture rotation plans.
Maintain accurate farm records (production, breeding, animal health, compliance).
Ensure full compliance with Irish animal welfare, food safety, and environmental regulations.
Operate and oversee maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
Manage farm budgets, input costs, and productivity targets.
Implement health and safety procedures on the farm.
Qualifications & ExperienceExperience in dairy farm management.
Strong knowledge of herd management, milk production systems, and pasture management.
Experience supervising farm workers.
Good communication and organisational skills.
