As we continue to expand to provide additional services to meet the needs of those we care for, we currently have a number of opportunities within our Orchard Community Care & Orchard Residential Care divisions across Ireland for full time & part time Health care Assistants, vacancies available in the following counties: Cavan, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Laois, Leitrim, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo Meath, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Carlow.
Working on a shift rota, you will engage in daily activities and routines of the service, providing dedicated direct support to the people we care for as well as contributing to their development, health and wellbeing.
Minimum of 39 guaranteed contracted hours per week, up to 48 hours on average.
Rosters include 12 & 24 Hour shiftsMinimum Hourly Rate of pay: €14.79
Purpose of role:
The Health Care Assistant is expected to engage in daily activities and routines of the service that they are working in, inclusive of direct support to service users, administration work and daily household tasks required of them. The Health Care Assistant is required to work as part of a dedicated and innovative team within Residential Services providing a service to the people we support in line with national regulations & standards.
Duties include but not limited to: Ensure delivery of a hight standard of care
Encourage recognition of the child/adult as an individual ensuring that they and their family's needs and comforts are given priorityTo ensure that colleagues assist in all aspects of the child/adult's Integrated Care Plan in a safe and observant manner.
Report requests, queries from children/adults/parents/visitors to the Manager.
to be aware of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment.
Essential Requirements: Relevant QQI Level 5 or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar environment supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities or supporting children and young people who are unable to live with their own families.Knowledge of adults/children with complex needs.
Full manual driver's licence is mandatory (eligibility to drive in Ireland)
