Industrial Plumber/Pipefitter
This job is based in Athenry Co Galway
Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
Review plans and building specifications to determine work details and procedures.
Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines and pipe-bending machines.
Hang steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place using scaffolding, ladders or MEWPS in a safe way.
Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances and sanitary fixtures using hand and power tools.
Meet obligations as assigned by the Health and Safety Work Act and safety procedures as dictated by the client and work site..
Other ad-hoc duties as required by client
Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines.
Select pipe sizes and types and related materials.
Work off own initiative
You must also hold all your own tools and have transport.
References required- Experience working on large scale commercial projects with leading contractors will be seen as an advantage .
Ipaf Safe pass & Manual Handling have to be up to date.
