Financial Accountant New

Reports to: Finance Manager

Role Summary

The role will involve regular interaction with senior stakeholders, monthly trial balance reviews, reconciliations, and supporting financial operations across a diverse and evolving organisation.

• Financial & Management Reporting:
• Month‑end process including general ledger review, journal review and approval.
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, reporting and reconciliations.
• Preparation of regulatory reporting submissions.
• Preparation of annual and interim financial statements under FRS102.
• Preparation of operating budgets and forecasts.
• Ad‑hoc analysis and drafting responses to external information requests.

Taxation & Compliance:

• Assist with preparation and submission of tax returns.

Audit:

• Support coordination of internal and external audits.

Other Responsibilities:

• Provide financial support and business partnering services as required.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Assist in documenting financial processes, procedures, and controls.

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 2+ years’ PQE.
• Experience in financial services or banking is advantageous.

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt quickly.
• Proactive self‑starter with strong initiative.
• Flexible and adaptable to change.

• Familiarity with general ledger systems (Infor SunSystems advantageous).
• Strong Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills.
