Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our busy kitchen team. In this role, you will take ownership of a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of preparation, presentation, and hygiene. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to grow in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment.

• Manage and run a specific section of the kitchen (e.g. grill, larder, fish, pastry).
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standards.
• Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in developing new menu items.
• Ensure all food preparation is in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Sous Chef.
• Train and mentor junior staff and apprentices in your section.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
• Work efficiently under pressure and during busy service periods.
• Contribute to a positive, respectful team environment.

• Proven experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
• Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) is desirable.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a team.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• A passion for food, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Experience in fine dining or high-volume service.
• Food safety certification (e.g., HACCP Level 2 or 3).
• Knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements.
