Trainee Accountant
We are seeking a Trainee Accountant to join a well-established and highly regarded accounting practice in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to gain hands-on experience, receive structured training, and develop a strong foundation in accounting and finance.
Location: CorkJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: €25-28K DOE
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and companiesSupport the delivery of auditing and assurance services
Prepare and submit tax returns across multiple tax categories (VAT, PAYE, RCT, Income Tax, and Corporation Tax)
Assist with company secretarial duties, including CRO filings
Engage in client consultations and provide support in meetings
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
Gain experience in specialized areas such as tax planning, R&D tax credits, forensic accounting, pension audits, and corporate finance
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax regulations
Work closely with senior accountants and contribute to a collaborative team environment
What We’re Looking For
Strong numerical skills with a keen attention to detailExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to take initiative
Strong IT proficiency, including familiarity with accounting software
Previous experience in an accounting practice or finance-related role (advantageous but not essential)
Ambitious and committed to obtaining professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA)
