Application Details
Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.
You can register your interest by selecting the ‘Register your interest’ button or you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.
Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.- Supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities with the activities of daily living and outdoor activities.
- You must have a keen interest in trade skills and outdoor work and developing these skills in other people.
- Have a keen awareness of risk and safety issues when working with people with intellectual disability.
- Promoting higher levels of independence;
- Encourage participation and inclusion in the community.
- Supporting individuals with enterprise activities and in gainful employment.
You will be mentored & guided during your time on CE to ensure that you get the qualifications, the networking opportunities & relevant experience necessary to gain full time employment.
Skills Required:- You must have a kind, patient nature and be able to work with vulnerable people.
- An understanding of confidentiality is essential.
- Must be willing to partake in QQI accredited Healthcare training.
- Flexibility in work & hours.
- A full clean manual driving licence is essential to progress your career as a Support Worker.
- Good communication skills & ability to get on and work well with others as part of a team.
Garda vetting and/or international police clearance is required for this post.
