Key Responsibilities of a Receptionist in Ireland:
Meeting and Greeting: Warmly welcoming visitors, clients, and guests, and directing them to the appropriate person or department.
Answering Calls: Managing incoming calls, transferring them to the correct person, or taking messages when necessary.
Administrative Tasks: Filing, mail handling, managing appointments, and handling basic office supplies.
Managing the Reception Area: Ensuring the reception area is tidy and presentable, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Customer Service: Providing information about the company, its products or services, and addressing customer inquiries.
Security: Managing visitor access, issuing security passes, and maintaining visitor logs.
Communication: Effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both verbally and in writing.
Problem-Solving: Addressing minor issues and escalating complex problems to the appropriate personnel.
Representing the Company: Maintaining a professional image and attitude while interacting with the public.
Other Duties:
Depending on the industry and organization, receptionists may also be involved in tasks like booking meeting rooms, arranging catering, and managing office supplies.
