Role Overview:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Bovine Embryologist to join our small team in Cork. This role involves hands-on work in the in vitro embryo production (IVP) process, contributing to oocyte processing, IVF, IVC, embryo grading, and cryopreservation.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and contribute to continuous improvement and scientific excellence within the lab.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform all aspects of the IVP workflow including:
o Oocyte identification and processing
o In vitro maturation (IVM)
o Fertilisation (IVF)
o Embryo culture (IVC)
o Embryo evaluation and grading (Day 6 & Day 7)
o Vitrification and thawing- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all lab procedures and outcomes
- Ensure high standards of biosecurity, cleanliness, and lab safety at all times
- Maintain equipment, consumables and stock
- Collaborate with the wider team on the process and progress (scheduling, quality control, and client reporting)
- Assist in the development and validation of new protocols and technologies
- Communicate effectively with the team
- Maintain compliance with EU regulations and lab accreditation standards
- BSc or higher in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Reproductive Biology, or a related field
- Experience working in a bovine IVF/IVP or reproductive lab environment
- Strong practical skills in embryo handling, grading, and cryopreservation
- Skilled in semen handling and analysis
- High attention to detail and commitment to lab protocol and data integrity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including early mornings and occasional weekends
- Experience working in liquid nitrogen
- Full manual driving license
