Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers.

Ornua has revenues of €3.4 billion and is supported by a global team of approximately 2,800 employees. The Group operates as a commercial organisation across 10 business units, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.

The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Ireland’s most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America.

It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility.

These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.

Key Areas of Responsibility

People Services Advisor

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the People Services team, displaying a strong ability to problem solve through managing and administering employee lifecycle events from onboarding through to offboarding for various jurisdictions
  • Acts as an SME for specific People Services activities
  • Responding to and resolving HR enquiries from employees, managers and HR colleagues in a timely manner utilizing knowledge base and case management tool in accordance with our SLA’s
  • Manage the contract and onboarding process across our Business Units
  • Communicate instructions to payroll in a timebound manner
  • Reporting on absence and other people reports
  • Manage and calculate holiday balances
  • Complete transactional HR processes and data updates using Success factors HRIS system and PeopleDoc CRM
  • Processing of invoices through the system
  • Participates in data review, auditing and user acceptance testing of new processes, procedures and system changes as needed
  • Maintaining electronic and physical personnel records in accordance with record retention policies
  • Responsible for having a general understanding of policy and procedures and be able to help others navigate them
  • Participate in and lead projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Uphold compliance in relation to employment and data protection legislation
  • Full understanding of GDPR required
  • Risk Management is a key part of this role, ensuring any risks are mitigated and highlighted to management where required
  • Strong stakeholder engagement
Key competencies
  • 3rd level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Excellent customer service, time management and communication skills
  • High personal integrity required in handling confidential information
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Highly proficient and competent user in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel
  • SAP Success Factors experience is an advantage
  • Flexible team player, with a passion and drive for HR and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
