Senior Occupational Therapist
Permanent | Full-Time | Dublin (Community-Based CDNT)
A well-established disability service provider is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician who is passionate about family-centred practice and working within an interdisciplinary team model.
The Organisation
The service delivers community-based supports under the Progressing Disability Services (PDS) model, providing interdisciplinary assessment and intervention to children (0–18 years) with complex needs, including intellectual disability, autism, physical disability, and developmental delay.
The Role
The Senior Occupational Therapist will work as part of a CDNT providing comprehensive assessments, goal-focused interventions, and consultation supports in line with PDS principles. The role involves clinical leadership within the OT discipline and active participation in interdisciplinary team working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing standardised and non-standardised occupational therapy assessments
- Delivering individual and group interventions based on identified needs
- Supporting children with sensory processing, fine and gross motor development, self-care skills, and participation goals
- Prescribing specialist equipment and advising on environmental adaptations
- Providing clinical supervision and mentoring to staff grade therapists and students
- Contributing to team-based assessments and family-centred goal planning
- Engaging in service development and quality improvement initiatives
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Registration with CORU
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with paediatric experience
- Experience working within disability services and/or interdisciplinary teams
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills
- Full clean driver’s licence and access to own transport
- Experience working within a CDNT or under the PDS model
- Experience in sensory integration, assistive technology, or seating and postural management
- Experience supervising junior staff
