Senior Mechanical Engineer in Louth

Job Specification - Mechanical Engineer (Plant Maintenance & Projects)

• Reports directly to the Engineering Manager
• Based at a large industrial manufacturing site

• To support plant maintenance operations and deliver large-scale plant improvement projects
• To improve plant availability, safety, and operational performance

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary maintenance team
• Take responsibility for a designated plant process area
• Ensure effective preventative and predictive maintenance programmes are in place
• Plan and manage major plant shutdowns and overhauls
• Manage contractors on specific maintenance jobs and projects
• Troubleshoot and resolve plant maintenance issues
• Drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental standards

• Scope and evaluate projects that deliver increased business returns
• Manage projects from construction through to installation
• Oversee commissioning and handover of new plant and equipment

Candidate Profile

• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a heavy industrial environment
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar engineering role
• Strong technical capability with sound commercial awareness
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• High level of IT proficiency (MS Office, AutoCAD)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Proven ability to meet project deadlines

• Demonstrated track record of contributing to improved plant performance and business outcomes
