Procurement Manager

Unify have partnered with a top data centre contractor, who are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee and manage all procurement activities for the company. This role will be critical in developing and implementing procurement strategies, optimising supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods and services.
The Procurement Manager will also play a key role in developing and mentoring a small Procurement Team. They will be working closely with the Senior Logistics Manager to identify and execute new processes to ensure minimum costs and maximum efficiencies.

This is an on-site role with a 3-day hybrid working model.

Main responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing and vendor selection and performance monitoring.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings (document on tracker) and maximise value.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor market trends and industry best practices to identify new opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring strong communication and resolving any invoice issues or disputes effectively.
  • Early engagement to secure material, contacting suppliers early to get the best quotes for specific components and to start securing materials once Status A tech subs and LOI are received especially for long lead materials.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Procurement team members, to help them progress within the company.
  • Ensure ESG compliance with all relevant procurement policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Manage procurement-related documentation and records.
  • Close coordination: Deliveries need to be closely coordinated with planning, logistics, operations by way of supplier G Docs and our own internal processes.
  • Utilising tender comparison sheets, Transferring Bill of Materials (BOM) details onto tender comparison sheets to showcase different pricing options clearly.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a procurement management role, preferably within ICT, Security or data cabling industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel
