Pargue House Nursing Home require a caretaker/groundskeeper.Role Purpose
The Caretaker/Groundskeeper is responsible for ensuring that the nursing home’s buildings, facilities, and outdoor areas are well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors. This role combines practical maintenance, caretaking duties, and groundskeeping to support the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
Key Responsibilities
Building & Facilities Maintenance
Carry out minor repairs (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, etc.).
Inspect and maintain fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
Ensure communal areas, walkways, and access points are safe and in good working order.
Support external contractors when major works are required.
Groundskeeping & Outdoor Care
Maintain gardens, lawns, walkways, and outdoor seating areas to a high standard.
Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, weeding, and general landscaping.
Ensure outdoor areas are tidy, safe, and enjoyable for residents.
Clear paths of leaves, snow, and ice during seasonal weather.
Health, Safety & Security
Conduct regular safety checks of premises and report any hazards.
Ensure compliance with fire safety, infection control, and health & safety procedures.
Lock and unlock the premises, monitor access, and ensure security of buildings and grounds.
Assist in emergency situations as required.
General Caretaking Duties
Set up rooms/areas for activities, events, or meetings.
Move and arrange furniture or equipment as needed.
Manage supplies for maintenance and groundskeeping.
Provide a helpful, respectful presence for residents and staff.- Sector:
