GL Accountant (Mallow - onsite)

They are currently looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join the team at their Mallow site on a full-time, 5-day onsite basis.

The Role This position involves managing the full spectrum of accounting functions, with a particular focus on international supply chain finance and multi-currency transactions. You will ensure the accuracy of the group’s financial records while collaborating closely with logistics and supply chain teams.

• Financial Reporting: Preparing monthly analytical reviews and consolidating financials into a group-wide reporting pack.
• Supply Chain & Inventory: Tracking inventory and supplier liabilities through various purchasing stages, managing stock adjustments, and performing physical-to-system reconciliations.
• Treasury & Banking: Managing foreign exchange exposure, aligning cash holdings to currency-denominated liabilities, and completing multi-currency bank reconciliations.
• Ledger Management: Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate income recognition, and managing creditor/debtor reconciliations.
• Compliance: Preparing VAT returns, tracking regulatory deadlines, and providing full documentation for annual audits.

• Professional Qualification: You must be a Qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) with a relevant degree.
• Technical Background: A strong understanding of core accounting principles is essential. Experience in logistics accounting or payroll processing is a distinct advantage.
• Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and SharePoint.
• Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Commitment: The ability to take ownership of tasks and meet strict month-end and year-end closing deadlines.
