Job Description

We are looking for a Retail Assistant to join our team at Paul Byron Shoes. As a Retail Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and ensuring smooth daily operations.

This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on retail experience through structured training and mentorship. The successful participant will receive full training in all aspects of store operations, including:
  • Customer service and building positive relationships with customers
  • Delivery processing and stockroom organisation
  • Stock management, including accurate stock counts and replenishment
  • Merchandising, pricing, and visual display to maximize sales
  • Operation of till systems and accurate cash handling
  • Communication and coordination with other stores within the company
  • Teamwork and contributing to a collaborative store environment

This is a training and work experience opportunity, and no prior experience is necessary.

Role Description

This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.

This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.

Formal Training Will Include:
  • Operation of till systems and accurate cash handling
  • Retail administration and store procedures
  • Stock handling, delivery processing, allocation, and restocking
  • Visual merchandising and maintaining shop displays
  • Health and Safety training
