An opportunity has arisen for an Energy Consultant to join a growing sustainability and energy advisory team based in Cork. This role is ideal for someone passionate about decarbonisation, building performance, and driving environmental improvements across property portfolios.
The position involves supporting a wide range of energy strategy, compliance, and client advisory projects, working closely with senior management and cross-functional teams. Candidates who are pursuing or interested in working toward professional chartership will thrive in this environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct building assessments and energy audits to identify major energy users and energy-saving opportunities.Develop tailored energy efficiency strategies, improvement plans, and carbon reduction initiatives.
Analyse and model energy data, identifying trends, issues, and optimisation opportunities.
Support the development of climate improvement plans and alignment with recognised decarbonisation frameworks.
Provide technical input and advice during pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.
Assist with compliance and sustainability certification processes such as BREEAM, LEED, and building energy ratings.
Assess the feasibility of renewable technologies (e.g., solar PV) from environmental and financial perspectives.
Prepare reports on energy consumption, savings achieved, and sustainability performance.
Act as an energy advisor to clients, maintaining strong and professional client relationships.
Coordinate communication and collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
Support water stewardship audits and wider sustainability surveys.
Produce regular energy and sustainability reports and provide insights based on data analysis.
Ensure quality assurance and support risk management across all stages of project delivery.
Requirements:
Degree in engineering, energy management, sustainability, environmental science, or a related discipline.Experience in energy auditing, building performance assessment, or sustainability consultancy (advantageous).
Knowledge of energy regulations, certification schemes, and building energy rating processes.
Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and building services systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and model energy data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and client engagement.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and proactive problem-solving ability.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, ideally on a pathway toward chartership.
