Job Description
Based in Maghera, Virginia, Co. Cavan, Ireland, Virginia International Logistics is a family-owned business with over 35 years’ experience in Temperature Controlled, Dry Freight & Containerized Transport.
The eligible participant will receive full training in all aspects of the placement. There will be a mentor there to guide and coach the participant. They will assist and learn the day-to-day duties of the job; over the 6 months they will be:
- Admin support to Planning Office by effectively liaising with colleagues to enable completion of tasks and the distribution of relevant information.
- Training on communication skills and teamwork linking in with drivers
- Assist in planning workload effectively and mentored in communicating work to drivers in an accurate and timely manner
- Mentored on how to manage delivery times and route planning throughout Ireland, UK, and Europe
- Shown how to assist with inhouse MoveIT system.
- Trained to assist with scheduling of transporters for service/maintenance checks
- Trained on providing face-to-face and telephone assistance to customers.
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity, no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.
Role Description
Formal Training: WPEP QQI Work Experience Module and candidate will be supported in any other training required.
