Salary: €50,000 – €60,000 (DOE)Location: Naas, Co. Kildare (Fully on-site)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00
We are recruiting a Quality Manager on behalf of one of our well-known clients based in Naas, to lead the Quality function within a fast-paced food production environment. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality and compliance across the site.
The Role:Reporting to the Plant Technical Manager, this role will lead the Quality team and take ownership of the site’s Quality and Food Safety Management Systems. You will ensure full compliance with regulatory, customer and third-party standards while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing and business processes.
This role requires strong leadership capability, technical expertise and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead, coach and develop a team of quality professionalsInfluence decision-making to ensure food safety and quality standards are prioritised
Collaborate cross-functionally and represent Quality at senior management level
Provide expert guidance on food safety, legislation and best practices
Quality Systems & ComplianceMaintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
Lead HACCP and TACCP programmes, ensuring robust food safety and defence systems
Ensure compliance with BRC standards, customer requirements and regulatory bodies
Manage internal audit programmes and lead external audits
Operational ExcellenceDrive plant-wide quality improvement initiatives and process enhancements
Monitor KPIs, analyse trends and implement corrective actions
Oversee non-conformance management, root cause analysis and corrective actions
Ensure effective product traceability, testing programmes and shelf-life management
Customer & Supplier ManagementAct as the key contact for customer quality queries, audits and complaints
Maintain product specifications and quality standards across all products
Support business development through technical expertise and customer engagement
Oversee supplier approval, auditing and performance management
Training & DevelopmentChampion food safety and quality training across the site (HACCP, hygiene, allergens, etc.)
Build a strong quality culture through continuous development and engagement
Experience & Skills: A diploma or higher qualification in Food Science or a related discipline is required
HACCP certification is essentialLead Auditor qualification is desirable
3–5+ years’ experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality role within the food industry
Strong experience working with retailers and regulatory bodies
In-depth knowledge of BRC Global Food Standards and food safety systems
Proven leadership and team management experience
Strong understanding of HACCP principles
Experience managing audits (internal, customer and regulatory)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proficiency in MS Office and quality reporting tools
