Maintenance
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and multi‑skilled Maintenance Person to join our team in our well‑established and welcoming care home. This is an important hands‑on role where you will work independently to ensure our residents enjoy a safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained home.
A good mix of practical skills, problem‑solving ability, and a warm, respectful manner is essential. While experience is important, we value someone who takes pride in their work and genuinely cares about creating a pleasant environment for older adults.
The Role
General Repairs: Day‑to‑day maintenance, basic plumbing, and minor electrical work.Painting & Decorating: Helping keep both the interior and exterior of the home looking its best.
Gardening: Seasonal care of lawns, hedges, and outdoor communal areas.
Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving maintenance issues calmly and efficiently.
Record‑Keeping: Maintaining clear notes of work completed.
Small Projects: Supporting improvements that enhance comfort, safety, and efficiency.
Health & Safety: Ensuring all work is carried out safely and responsibly.
On‑Call: Weekend availability for emergency maintenance call‑outs.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Previous maintenance, DIY, or trade experience.Independence: Confidence in working on your own initiative and managing your own workload.
Communication: Strong command of English is essential.
Documentation: Full clean driving licence required.
Vetting: Garda Vetting will be completed for the successful candidate.
References: Strong employment references are required.
Attitude: A positive, “can‑do” approach and a respectful, supportive manner with residents and staff.
Salary: Based strictly on experience and skill level, with hours that may increase over time depending on the needs of the home.
