QA Test Analyst - 12 month day rate contract

QA Test Analyst - Financial Services

1. 5 years experience in Test / QA role required

• Participate in all project related meetings to get better understanding of core applications and requirements from Business Team.
• Create and / or maintain test suites for a wide variety of investment systems for ongoing application releases: functional and regression testing.
• Record all test case results, communicate same to development, business analysts, project managers and business sponsors.
• Input to test automation strategy (automation scripts are developed by automation engineers).
• Support user test planning to ensure change management processes are adhered to.
• Coordinate test efforts carried out by business users across different functions and locations, often involving third parties, as required.
• Support business user testing by providing appropriate test data and test conditions.
• Liaise with business users to ensure all changes achieve the required level of User Acceptance Testing prior to release sign-off.
• Manage and coordinate test setup of multiple applications and test environments.
• Liaise with IT Operations and Development Team to manage the release testing in accordance with release procedure.

• Ability to learn on the job to take ownership of all aspects of release testing.
• Attention to quality and detail.
• A history of working to tight project schedules and delivering successfully.
• Motivated, enthusiastic individual with ability to work on own initiative.
• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to grasp and work with financial and newly developed in-house applications as well as overall understanding of system development lifecycles.
• Financial experience is an advantage.
• Comfortable working alongside both business users and IT technical staff.
• Confident in dealing with clients – both internal and external – professional attitude at all times.

• Expected third level qualification in a technical or business-related discipline.
• Familiarity with automation test tools and scripting languages is desirable.
• Experience in testing a wide range of financial applications is essential.
• Experience with SQL, sufficient knowledge to create moderately complex SQL queries, is required.
• Experience with Agile Development Methodology is desirable.
• 3-5 years proven background as a Software Tester / QA analyst.
