Chemical Production Operator:
Working as part of a team, and based in Foynes, the Chemical Plant Operator is responsible for the handling of
raw materials, manufacture of batches and loading and unloading of Bulk liquids, as well the filling, loading, and
other operations related to the transport of these products from Foynes.
There is a requirement to work between our Shannon and Foynes Facilities, and to be available as cover for other employees during times of
holidays and training, and to be available for offloading of boats when required.
Responsibilities:
- Unloading/transfer of bulk chemical shipments at Foynes dock to storage tanks/warehouse
- Filling/loading of chemicals into tankers/trucks for transport to parent company in Shannon and/or
- Forklift driving/shunting
- Operating track machinery as well as loading shovel as required
- Use of other machinery: Teleporter/MEWP
- Use of pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers, etc. for liquid transfer
- Stock taking, recording data, transferring data/information to parent site in Shannon
- Communication with ships, hauliers and parent company
- Directly involved with the offloading of material through our shipping partners, which will include
- Other duties as required:
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Experienced General Operator
- Forklift Driver: Forklift Licence
- Experience of use of other machinery would be an advantage (e.g. Teleporter/ MEWP/Shunter)
- Familiar with the handling of Corrosive Chemicals
- Chemical Awareness Training
- Experience of using personal protective equipment
- Familiar with the use of pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers, etc. for liquid transfer
- Familiar with the Safety Data Sheets for Chemicals
- Familiar with the requirements for the transport of hazardous loads by road
- Manual handling training and practical experience of manual operations
- Computer Literate, with the use of software packages such as Word, Excel
