Job Title: Procurement & Merchandising Manager

About the Company: My client is a well-established business renowned for offering a wide range of quality products and exceptional service to both retail and trade customers across Ireland. They are seeking a dynamic Procurement & Merchandising Manager to lead end-to-end procurement and merchandising.

This role ensures timely product sourcing, optimal inventory management, and alignment of merchandise with market trends and customer demand , directly driving profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Duties:

  • Source and procure goods and materials to meet company standards for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers to achieve competitive advantages.
  • Manage supplier relationships and regularly evaluate their performance.
  • Issue purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely arrivals.
  • Identify new suppliers and explore cost-saving opportunities.

Merchandising Duties:

  • Analyse sales trends and customer demand to develop effective merchandise plans.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and store teams to align product offerings with market needs.
  • Monitor stock levels and implement replenishment strategies to maintain optimal inventory.
  • Plan and execute product range selections and seasonal promotions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory and product performance.

General Duties:

  • Work in partnership with finance and logistics departments to ensure seamless procurement and inventory operations.
  • Produce regular reports on procurement activities, sales data, and stock performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
  • Travel as needed within Europe for supplier visits and relationship management.
  • Conduct regular store walk-throughs with the retail team to stay aligned with market and customer needs.

Experience:

  • Experience in retail, wholesale, or FMCG sectors preferred.
  • Strong Administrative experience
  • Proven background in vendor negotiation, merchandising planning, and inventory control.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement and merchandising best practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP software.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
