The Opportunity

An established and fast-growing organisation in the industrial chemical solutions sector is seeking a Business Development Manager to support its strategic growth objectives. This position offers the chance to work with an experienced team in a high-impact commercial role, identifying new revenue streams and nurturing long-term client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a background in B2B sales or account development, preferably within the water treatment, environmental, or industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, markets, and industry partnerships
  • Design and implement strategies to attract and retain clients
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis
  • Drive lead generation through outbound sales, networking, and digital outreach
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive business proposals and presentations
  • Negotiate and close commercial agreements in line with sales targets
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure customer needs are met
  • Provide accurate reporting on sales performance and market insights
  • Represent the business at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings
Candidate Profile
  • Third-level qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a relevant discipline
  • Background in chemical, environmental, or water treatment industries is an advantage
  • Proven track record in sales, business development, or commercial account management
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Self-motivated, results-focused, and able to work independently
  • CRM system experience and strong Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Full, clean driving licence (travel to client sites required)
