Field Service Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Field Service Engineer provides engineering support with the installation, maintenance and ongoing service of the companys range of medical equipment in accordance with field procedures. The post requires a high level of technical skill combined with the ability to liaise with our valued customers.

The companys equipment includes CT (Computed Tomography), Digital X-Ray for General Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Dexa, Dental, and Veterinary systems. The successful candidate will be an established problem solver with excellent communication and social skills and the ability to work under pressure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reports to the Field Service Manager with strong technical ability to form a key link in the companys service team.
  • Provides service, repair, installation, and maintenance of the companys range of systems.
  • Ability to work under their own initiative with advanced fault-finding techniques.
  • Liaise with customers via phone support or remote support.
  • Provides a quality service to customers with first time fix as a priority.
  • Demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction and exceeding customer's expectations.
  • Monitors and drives equipment performance, highlighting problem equipment and finding solutions.
  • Report possible sales opportunities to the sales department.
  • Ability to respond to emergency breakdown situations.
  • Attend technical Training courses when required.
  • Provides service support and guidance to customers on the companys install base and builds strong, professional customer relationships.
  • Feedback service and customer information to the service department.
  • Required to participate in customer out-of-hours support through remote or on-site support.
  • Willing to travel/stay overnight to meet business need both in Ireland & abroad.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge and understanding of digital x-ray equipment and other medical devices desirable but not essential.
  • Installation of PC hardware and associated software.
  • Knowledge of Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems.
  • Networking/platform protocols. "IT Network infrastructure".
  • Understanding of DICOM protocols.
  • Educated to HND or degree level desirable but not essential.

  • Professional and knowledgeable approach to solving customer problems.
  • Able to converse with all levels of customers and liaise effectively with support functions.
  • Committed to providing a high level of technical support and ownership of problems to external and internal customers.
  • Able to produce precise reports as necessary.
  • Potential to develop and be recognised as an "expert".
