Position: Medical Service Driver Representative
Location: Dublin
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: €28,500 per annum, Paid Monthly

Job purpose

To carry out services as required at customer sites, install, collect and exchange units ensuring that customers receive excellent service at all times. To identify opportunities for additional sales and meet individual depot & company performance targets.

Key responsibilities
  • Visit customer premises on a daily basis to carry out services. Ensure that the customers receive excellent customer service alerting your line manager of any problems that the customer may be experiencing.
  • Complete all Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes accurately and correctly.
  • Ensure the health safety and welfare of yourself and others affected by your actions by following instruction, information and training given.
  • Ensure that service procedures, processes, and systems of work issued are followed.
  • Ensure that all injury or near-miss incidents at work, involving your or others are reported using appropriate procedures.
  • Provide a premium quality of clinical waste collection service to our customers to ensure total satisfaction and justify a premium sales price.
  • Service customer requirements in accordance with service schedules and routes in your area.
  • Protect the customer base by selecting the “Visit issue” button to alert the service support officer if an account is in jeopardy or if the customer requires further assistance. If the issue is urgent ensure you report to your service manager.
  • Must have a detailed knowledge and understanding of :
  1. Product range and provision of service
  2. Key contract customers' requirements
  3. Branch geography and service areas
  4. Service Technician Manual
  5. Waste Management Licensing conditions for Branches
  6. Service reporting & control systems
  • Report any breakdown or failure of equipment provided for the course of your work.
  • To provide a quality service by:
  1. Ensuring service visit details are documented on service cards and records.
  2. Ensuring sufficient stock is kept on your vehicle to provide the customer with the service.
  3. Informing your Controller about additional uplifts and documents on service cards to ensure updating of the branch computer system.
  4. Obtaining the customer’s signature, including the time of the call, and making him aware of any additional uplifts.
  5. Ensuring calls are completed in route order within stated working hours.
  6. Reporting any missed calls to your Service Controller giving reasons why.
  7. Complying with customer instructions relating to their health and safety requirements.
  8. Notifying the Service Supervisor or Controller if the customer requires termination of the contract for any reason.
  9. Safeguarding customer privacy by not leaving their details unattended.
  • Complete all checks by following procedures detailed throughout the Technician’s Manual
  • Obtain sufficient knowledge to enable you to service your given routes and to follow issued health and safety instructions.
  • Attend all bi-annual service meetings.
  • Ensure all injury or near-miss incidents at work or to themselves or any other person is reported to the Line Manager using the agreed SINA and Lex procedures.
  • Report immediately to the Field Team Leader/Supervisor/Service Manager, any breakdown or failure of work equipment, personal or respiratory protective equipment, or vehicle, plant, tools, or other equipment provided for work.
  • Inform your Line Manager as soon as possible about issues likely to interfere with your work.
  • Inform your Line Manager over issues regarding health, safety, and welfare.
  • Complete random weight checks as detailed in the vehicle section of the Technician’s Manual.
  • Ensure that you wear clean and presentable company uniforms during working hours.
  • Take responsibility for your vehicle as detailed in the vehicle section of the Technician’s Manual.
  • Ensure that all chemicals stored and used are handled correctly and do not expose staff to unnecessary risk during service delivery.
  • Ensure that the Service Operation is run within divisional and Health and Safety standards.
  • Ensure all Hazardous Waste is postcoded to guarantee traceability from cradle to grave.
  • Adhere to all requirements of the ADR Regulations 2009

  1. Packing Groups; Class 1, 2 and 3
  2. Dangerous Substances
  3. Emergency Procedures and Equipment
  4. 9 Classes of Dangerous Goods
  5. Transportation Exemptions
  6. Packaging and Segregation of Dangerous Goods
  7. Marking and Placards
  8. Waste Segregation
  9. Transportation Documentation, including ADR Licence
  10. Safe loading and unloading of vehicles
  11. Reporting of accidents and incidents involving vehicles carrying dangerous goods • Security Provisions
  12. Carry out company waste weighing procedures correctly and accurately and ensure that all data is correctly inputted on to the weighing document.

Requirements

To be considered for the Medical Service Driver position you will have:

  • A full Irish driving license with two years’ experience
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong commitment to delivering customer excellence.
  • Strong organisation skills to effectively manage and prioritise workload.
  • Good eye for detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Be flexible with working hours, as this role can start early and also end early!
  • Ability to use own initiative and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude
