Job Description
City Centre shoe shop looking for full time sales assistant. Responsibilities include helping customers, tidying shop and stock rooms, fixing displays and opening deliveries.This is a training and work experience opportunity for a Retail Assistant. The successful candidate must have an interest in the retail sector and will be assisted by a supportive team. Participant will be assigned a mentor who will help the trainee develop new skills and gain experience in a busy environment.
This role is 100% focused on training and development. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of professional skills while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment. No previous experience is required but good English is essential—we are looking for a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!
What You Will Learn:
- Operational Support: Assisting with stock deliveries, learn how to create window and shop floor displays. Learn how to process payments and record sales.
- Customer Engagement: Learning how to greet and assist customers with queries.
- Product Knowledge: Become familiar with the different brands, sizing conversions and best practice for looking after the products.
- Stock Room Maintenance: Assist with implementing high standards of cleanliness in the stock room and on the shop floor to ensure a clean and organised shopping environment. Will also include sorting, pricing and preparing stock for the shop floor
- Health & Safety: Shadowing staff when retrieving stock from high shelves, using ladders or steps as necessary.

- Orientation and Safety: Site Tour, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Using ladders and other equipment.
