Interim Group Construction Services – Manager of Health & Safety

We wish to appoint an Interim Group Construction Services – Manager of Health & Safety.
This is a senior leadership position with ultimate responsibility for developing, implementing and sustaining a “Best in Class” Construction H&S delivery as part of our overall Construction Service delivery. This position will also champion the Construction H&S portfolio.This role can be located from the following PM Group business units: Cork, Dublin, Antwerp, or Brussels.
The appointed person will also work closely with the Group Head of Health & Safety and report to the Group Head of Construction Services.
As this is a Group position, the role will require flexibility in relation to travel.

- Continuous development of our H&S Leadership & Culture across PM Group Construction Services.
- Responsible for all aspects of construction health, safety, environment and sustainability matters undertaken by Construction Services.
- Implementing and developing PM Group’s Health & Safety Policy and ISO 45001 certified health & safety management system across all Construction projects.
- Management, recruitment and development of H&S personnel to meet the needs of the Construction Services Group.
- Continuously develop, sustain and enhance PM Group’s H&S training programme, workshops and awareness campaigns.
- Development of project-specific health & safety strategies, programmes and plans.
- Implementation and development of PM Group’s behavioural safety programme, mental health and wellbeing supports.
- Provision of specialist health and safety support and advice, to the Construction Service teams including legal responsibilities.
- Performance monitoring and reporting via the implementation of KPIs and audit regimes.
- Work closely with the Group Construction Services leadership to grow, enhance and continually develop the overall H&S delivery.
- Input as required to Strategic Construction Proposals and general oversight/input to geographical BU Construction Proposals.
- Responsible for the development of strategies and standardisation in relation to our Construction H&S programme.
- Champion research & development in Construction H&S technologies.
- Life Cycle H&S interface management – Design, Procurement, CQV
- Central Core Competency Support
- - Demonstrated capability in Construction H&S delivery within specialized industrial sectors. (Life Sciences, Food & Mission Critical)
- Professional Qualification in H&S, Engineering or Construction /Project Management desirable.
- Chartered member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent qualification would be an advantage
- 10+ year’s professional experience.
- Proven knowledge and strong understanding of H&S statutory requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at management and operation level.
