You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Amazon Web Services are looking for a Network Deployment Project Manager / Program Manager to expand our Network Infrastructure team. The team work with varied internal customers to deploy low latency content delivery services like; Caching, DNS, Prime Video streaming, Internet, Peering and Backbone connectivity all across the EMEA region.
The role involves many Project Management core competencies in conjunction with technical/networking knowledge to lead cross functional, globally dispersed teams to drive planning, designs, constraints management and interdependent project schedules.
If you are excited about the prospect of managing high impact projects, exude passion, and enjoy the challenges of deploying highly technical, innovative projects at massive scale, this job is for you!
Key job responsibilities
We start by consolidating our customer requirements in a location and forecasting future growth of their services. We develop a requirement list then work with engineering to design the network to support it. The plan then becomes a program, detailing physical infrastructure, networking and services hardware and internet, peering and backbone connectivity.
The TIPM would work with Business Development teams to contract space in colo/edge facilities and then manage the deployments with our dedicated engineering and installation teams and the facility provider.
The final piece is Internet and peering connectivity and again we have dedicated teams for contracting those.
The end result is a new AWS Edge point of presence, redundantly connected via multiple backbone paths, with the local market customer base directly connected to AWS and our customer's services.
If you’re interested in how the internet works, networking or data-centre services then this role has it all. We don’t expect candidates to be experts in all areas, we provide coaching and mentorship to get you up to speed.
