Our client is a well-established, rapidly growing multinational manufacturing company in Cork, specializing in environmentally sustainable cooling solutions for global tech leaders, including large-scale data centres. With over 25 years of success in Ireland and a reputation for quality, reliability, and exceptional service, they employ 140 staff across two Cork facilities and continue to expand their innovative operations.

Your Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the Engineering team in developing design concepts for specialist HVAC equipment, including AHUs, IECs, DECs, and CDUs. Key responsibilities include:

• Selecting and verifying components: coils, compressors, fans, dampers, actuators, filters, louvres
• Preparing and reviewing technical documentation
• Supporting tender submissions, reviewing specifications, and preparing technical responses with the design team and Key Account Manager
• Ensuring all unit designs comply with approved project specifications
• Coordinating with Production to ensure smooth integration from design to manufacture

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 1–2 years mechanical design experience, ideally in an OEM or manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in CAD and 3D modelling software, particularly SolidWorks
• Ability to interpret 2D technical drawings
• Positive, proactive approach with strong organisation and communication skills
