Cpl are retained to work exclusively with our client partner who are a global leader in adhesive technologies and industrial chemical manufacturing, to support them with recruiting a Process Safety Engineer for their flagship manufacturing and R&D operation in Dublin.
With a heritage spanning almost 150 years and operations in over 75 countries, they are recognised worldwide for innovation in adhesives, sealants and surface treatment technologies used across a wide range of industrial sectors.
Due to continued investment and growth within their Irish operations, they are now seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join their technical team and play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of their chemical manufacturing processes.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the EHS Director, the successful candidate will act as a key process safety subject matter expert, supporting manufacturing operations, new product introductions, process improvements and capital projects across the site.
You will lead and facilitate process safety activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practice and the company’s global process safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and maintain site Process Safety Management (PSM) programmes and initiatives.
- Facilitate and coordinate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOP studies, ATEX assessments, FMEA reviews and other risk assessment activities.
- Drive process safety improvements across manufacturing operations and engineering projects.
- Support new product introductions, scale-up activities and technology transfers from R&D into production.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety reviews for process modifications and capital projects.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain and improve explosion protection documentation and hazardous area classifications.
- Provide technical guidance on chemical process safety, operational risk management and engineering controls.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS and R&D teams.
- Monitor compliance with relevant Irish, European and corporate process safety standards.
- Deliver process safety training and awareness programmes across the site.
- Identify opportunities to improve process reliability, operational efficiency and manufacturing performance while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Candidate Profile
Essential- Degree qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' Process Safety experience within chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical, process manufacturing or a related industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of process safety principles and risk management methodologies.
- Experience participating in or leading HAZOP, PHA, FMEA, ATEX or similar studies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional technical teams.
- Experience working with reactive chemical processes and flammable solvents.
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
- Experience supporting new product introductions and process scale-up activities.
- Familiarity with COMAH, ATEX, IECEx or equivalent process safety regulations.
- Project engineering or continuous improvement experience within manufacturing.
